Buster, Rusty, Gary and I were best of friends throughout high school. Buster came from a great family, his mother owned her own shop always had food for me, and his father was a NNWS Lt. Who was liked by everyone. Tommy was his little brother who we all picked on.
We played ball, were in scouts (Order of the Arrow) and had many a good time at school and on weekends.
Buster went to Va Tech and was in the Corps of Cadets. I saw him a lot while I was at Ferrum, but as the years went by he settled down in Northern Va and I went out to see the world.
I am sorry for not keeping up with Buster, he was a damn good friend. God Bless you old buddy, you have been missed these past few years you will be very missed now.
You and Rusty save a spot at the table for me,
Bill |

I knew Buster from Elementary School days. I remember he and Dudley Curtis were inseparable baseball players. Buster always had animals - not just pets, he had a horse. So it makes sense he was a Veterinarian. As Bill Young says below, Buster's mom. "Snookie", ran a hair styling shop where my mom got her hair done, so I was carted to Buster's from time to time and played with him. If I remember correctly, Buster married a lady doing one of the animal (birds, I think) shows at Busch Gardens? When I moved back to Virginia in 2000, I heard Buster had a Vet business in Montpelier, VA, close by, but before I could catch back up with him, I saw his Obituary. I'll miss Buster and all of our classmates in this list. Many have left a mark on who I am. |
